I've yet to hear of a bake fixing 6xxx bits. Worth a shot if it's cheap I suppose.

If a ram chip or the core or a MOSFET is actually dead for instance, baking will do nothing.
Baking only fixes solder issues.

no i want to upgrade my computer with another 6950 and maybe my brother computer
the 6950 guy said this
Hi
We received these Graphic Card AS IS and it says on Box that it has "Display Issue" and we are not sure if it shows display or not. But Graphic Card looks New, nothing have been taken out or changed. Also Serial Number shows this graphic Card was manufactured in March 2011 and not sure if it still has warranty left or not.
Thank You

If that's the MSI, it should still have a warranty.
Whether or not you should use that warranty, morally speaking, is up to you.

Baking is able to fix broken alignments at the solder points. However, for processors, RAM or other electronics (Mosfet, Capacitor and more) it does nothing and it is even able to damage them (partially or completly). So its just recommended as a absolutly last resort, when there is nothing to lose.

Baking has a chance of being a temporary fix anyways. I'd rather spend more to have a known-good card (or at least a new one with an RMA option) and a valid warranty than chance it on a possibly-temporary fix.
