My sister needs a SFF box built. She generally uses things like e-mail, web browsing, instant messaging, and not much more. It still needs to be fast, but it doesnt need to be for gaming. I am considered the AM2 or Core 2 Duo route. Either way it'll need 2GB of DDR2 800.

What would you recommend for a Core 2 Duo setup?
What about for a AM2 setup?

I wouldn't mind buying a barebone then buying the rest of the components. Either way it should look pretty nice, i dont want it to look like a gaming box with windows and LEDs, something sleek and stylish.

I've had a Shuttle barebone and a biostar barebone. I was happier with the biostar setup.

Recommend me something, please!

For simple email, and browsing.
Either would do Fine.

I may be tempted to go AM2, since they consume less electrical power.
You don;t need a super powerful mashine for browsing and Email ^^ so why not save on the electric bill too?

AM2 for sure as it costs half the price and you get the CPU, Motherboard and RAM for ~$180!!!
X2 3600+, Biostar TForce7050 (got the best integrated graphics out) and 2GB Corsair XMS2

You will be VERY happy I assure you!

I concur, even with the Intel price drop you can't beat a 3600 x2 Brisbane on a Biostar Tforce board for deals. With a nice clean install and a couple gigs of RAM that machine will run smooth and snappy!

How do you guys feel about this barebone?

If i dont get a barebone i need help finding a decent looking case. I uploaded pics of cases i like, but they are all barebone systems where i cannot buy the case separately. (except the thermaltake which is very expensive).

Looking to spend <$100. Around $60 is good.
