can't get both drives working on blacx duet

Hey guys,

I am trying to get the system in my sig to recognize both hard drives in my blacx duet. I have enable ahci and run the registry patch to make it so it boots, but still only 1 drive is showing up on in windows 7. I also notice when looking under the settings in my bios it only shows the 1 drive with 1tb of storage in the sata port. It does not show the second 1tb drive in the bios.

Am I doing something wrong? I also searched for my downloaded the latest achi drivers from msi's website.

Please advise. Thanks!

Could it be that the eSATA port the docking station is connected to isn't port-multiplier compatible?

Does anyone know how I could figure out if my mobo's sata ports are capable of port multiplying? Is there some sort of 2 sata to 1 port adapter I can get?

Quick Google searching seems to say that SATA port multiplying isn't a common feature, and it's usually done through a expansion card. At which point you might as well just get a PCIe to SATA adapter card rather than a SATA multiplier to avoid bottlenecking (though I doubt two spinners would bottleneck SATAII).

I don't think I have room on my mobo for a pci-e sata adapter.

EDIT 1
I will check when I get home to see if this will fit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

EDIT 2
Would that esata thing fit in the little black port between the blue ones?.....I am 99% sure that my gtx 480 covers that up big time...

GTX 480 covers that slot if not watercooled.

You can always use PCIe "riser card" cables.

Link? Thanks a ton!

Also. any alternative to using pci-x would be GREAT. I really need to make duplicate backups and would love any help you guys could give.

Thank you guys/gals a bunch. Just shot a wedding and backup is taking forever!

Okay so going to order this:

http://www.amazon.com/PCI-E-Express-...+express+riser

with this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

to work on this

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P55M-GD41.html

Thanks

*EDIT*
It looks like the card I linked doesn't support pci-e 2.0. Which means slow xfers. Noob question here, but can you get 2.0 on a pci-e 1x? I think you can.....
