Please post your current khash/s and kilawatt reading for your miners. efficiency will determined by KH/s/w. Please discuss hardware and any tips and tweaks for electrical efficiency. To keep things standard, please use scrypt numbers or note if other algo is used.

I have a 790fx-ud4p, amd x2 245, 1 msi 7970 and 1 visiontek 7950. Psu is antec HCP platinum 1000. open air case with 3 -120 fans and one ddc pump.

I have not changed anything for efficiency, yet.

You can see the average kh in the top left, values dropped due to gpuz being open. A few rejects, but I think it will go down, there was a rush of them when I first started it up.

Found that my rig uses 1.58 1.89 amps gpu mining, and 0.45 amps idle. So 1.13 x 120 = ~136 watts 1.44 X 120 = 172 Watts GFX card only.

Was much higher, so I downclocked and lower the watts by 50 :D

7950 running at 1000/1500 and .964v consumes 210w. At stock voltage, .994v, and 900/1500 clocks it was pulling 220w. At stock voltage and 1000/1500 clocks it pulled 275w! So cutting .03v is saving me 65w!

Building another rig soon when I get all the parts for it together. It's going to be a AM3 790FX board, Sempron 140 CPU, with a 7850, 7870 XT, and a 7950. Will report back in probably a week.

very close to my numbers. two 7870s must be very close to one 7970. Interesting.

Thanks.

yeah they pull right around 120w each at 1000 core 1300 memory clocks and do 350 kh/s each.

Your 7950 must get better numbers than mine then. The altered bios really improved mine, but it is like a completely different card now. I may not have it maxed, but it is higher than I have had it before.

It does 611kH at 1000/1500.

Before the Stilt Bios it only would do 550kH at those clocks. I could only crack 600 with 1100/1500, and now those clocks do 663kH BUT it uses 300w to do that. So I leave it at 1000.

Janus67|2x290X, 1x7950|2400kh/s|~925 watts|925/2400 = 0.3854|4770k|Z87 OC Formula|Strider Gold 1200w

I have a kill-a-watt, but don't want to turn off the PC until I have to ;)

Wouldn't you rather be measuring khs per watt? as opposed to watt per khs? Which would equal 2.594 for me right now. No custom bioses, running everything at 20% powertune (right now anyway).

I used 300W for each 290X and 225W for the 7950, + 100W for the rest of the 4770k (which is probably being generous as it isn't being stressed).

Yeah I would get out the KW meter because you're probably over 1k.

I agree with the KH per watt. Also if you're going to measure at the wall, what PSU you have would be applicable.

:( you are right. Decided to test it out, pulling 1050 from the wall right now on my 1200W Silverstone Strider Gold PSU. Puts me closer to 2.3 in efficiency

W/kh or kh/w doesn't really matter as long as everyone does the same. W/kh is what I have seen elsewhere. It is early enough in this thread that we could change.

Does anyone want to make a spreadsheet and form?

Yeah that's what I figured. It's more like 350 for each 290x and 250 for a 7950, then 100 for the rest of the system.

I also like the kh per watt. But honestly I don't think this thread will evolve much because not many have a KW meter.

So basically what I'll do is try several configurations and give results for each setup. I'll need about week to get all the results and then I'll post back, but I should have all the numbers for the following setups-

3x 7870 XT's

7870 XT and a 7950

2x 7850

Single 7850

I think we should add CPU, motherboard, and PSU.

So here's 3 setups-

87dtna|7850x2+7950x1|1300kh/s|578w|2.25kh/w|G530|Z68A-gd65|Antec TruePower 650w

It pains me to see good benching hardware put to use for mining.....
Too bad that the good boards are the ones with plentiful pcie slots.

Wife's PC measured-

87dtna|7850x1|365kH|235w|1.55kh/w|Athlon II 250|880g|X-power 650w

Darn AMD setups, thing idles at 110w....absolutely ridiculous. The G530 Celeron and Z68 board idle at 40w.

well personally i see the positive side, i aim to bench all of the cards i bought for mining and i couldnt have afforded/justified so many toys without the ROI :)

those ones suck the juice eh?
How much better is the sempron wattage vs the athlon2 250?
Maybe I will swap in a sempron and see what the difference is...
