Hey everyone, if you have signed up for the Wars and want to play....we really need your help. Sub-team strategy will be much more complex with the new handicap system. In order to effectively get you guys sorted properly, I need a better idea of what you believe your hardware is capable of.

Please repost in this thread the CPU(s) that you would be willing to run in the Forum Wars, and to your knowledge, please provide a description of how well it overclocks. If you have no idea about your CPU....that's OK, but please tell us ;) Thanks!

In order to maximize the effectiveness for each sub-team, I'd also like you to post every cooling option you have available to you (and specify CPU or GPU or both).

i7 930 that should clock pretty well once I get a good board under it (hopefully I'll have the board by wars time lol)
gtx480'll do 900+ on core and 2100+ on memory

If I can help with the following HW, then I'll be glad to enter a system. If not, I don't mind being put in the cheerleaders' class.

CPUs
i7 920 on Air or H2O
i5 680 on Air, H2O, or SS

GPUs on Air (Venomous X, Shaman, or MK-13)
HD6850
8800GT
8800GTS 320MB
8800GTS 512MB (G92)
8800GTX

i7 920 (3845B260) @ 4.3GHz w/ HT, I haven't been able to get past 205 bclk. I haven't tried OCing w/o HT, so I'm not sure how far it will go.

I haven't even tried OCing the i5 680, so I have no idea.

The HD6850 can do 1025/1050 and sometimes 1050/1075. It sometimes artifacts on 2D stuff though...

I've gotten the 8800GT to 778/1944/1053.

The 8800GTX to 648/1512/1026, those 27MHz "Steps" are so annoying...

I haven't OCed the 8800GTS 512MB or 320MB yet.

My 655k will do at least 5200-5300 on air depending how cold it is outside and how daring I get withh voltages. My 5870 seems to do around 1030/1350 + or - a little depending on what bench. I only have air cooling available.

Best I got for the i7-930 was 217bclk 4552Mhz wPrime 8 threads.
i5-750 was 220bclk 4620MHz wPrime 4 cores.
My 3D sucks :)

BTW, is wPrime for forum war counts as max cpu's clock speed is better rather than wPrime score?

And will you be able to do extreme cooling on the CPU & GPU, or only the CPU? Or neither?

Hey Matt....can you take a really brief whack at the 680 and see what it'll do in it's current config and PM me the quick result? The more modern the GPU, the better advantage you'll have, so I'm really only focused on the 6850 ATM ;)

I think I've got you locked in jaymz  Thanks

I'm almost positive I'll have you run the i5 750  We're working on a GPU fix for you ;)

wPrime 32M score will count for the Wars......IN ADDITION, there is a CPU OC bonus based on the speed at which you complete your wPrime run....but that's totally seperate.

Hopefully I'll be setup for ln2 by then, but I'm gonna be cutting it close. I've got water for the CPU right now...whether or not I get this site done in time for the check to hit my bank account with time to order will determine the rest. It's worth noting I'll be super green on going cold, so that's probably best reserved for a last resort sorta thing lol

my setup should be worth 470k total from the calculator. I am guessing on the 06 score and vantage score as I dont have the video card in my possesion at this time. should be here this week. but the bonus from the chip on air should be 102%

Sounds good dejo...but are you sure you've got the bclock for that?
Is October gonna play?

CPU's: 970 and W3680
970 never been subzero Will do 4.5 on water. W3680 has done 5.5 to 5.7 LN2.

GPU's: 580 and 5870
5870 1000/1300 Stock air. 580 not sure yet. Plan is to take one subzero soon.

I think I will be pushing 400k with my setup on water. If I go DI, there are 2 potential issues as I see it. First, That will put me in to a class Im out matched HW wise I would imagine (with single 470), second, I *may* be moving back to ohio around the time of FW so using my water all around is much easier to make my obligations. As I know about my potential move, I can let you know.

The w3570 seems to be solid around 4.7Ghz (hoping to get to 4.8+), and Im maxed out on the GPU at 900/1800/1850 on these 3D benches.

I also have a 920 that does OK under DI, so if I can do DI, it will be between the 3570 and 920. 920 will give nice o/c bonus vs 3570, but I have no idea how high the 3570 can go on DI either.

the daughter can play, and wants to. but her chip will only do 4400 for the tests, but she will have a 480 to work with. we could get her in with the i7 920 and 2 480's if needed. let me know, I dont know that her setup would be competitive but she would play is needed.

Cpu's
Phenom II 720 x3 ~3900 on all benches on air, ~4.5ghz at least on DIce
Phenom II 555 (x2,x3 or x4) ~4400-4800mhz on air ~5200-5900 on DIce

Gpu's
9800GTX+ Was doing 855/2000/1300 on vantage so that should be doable with a little cold air.
8800GT - Needs to be worked out. Wasn't playing nicely on 3d the other night.

Upto DIce on the cpu, TRUE on the cpu with some big 'un fans for cold air if you need me in the air category.

Air on all Gpu's.

I'm borrowing an i5 650 from Ed, that will be running on a P55-UD6. Hopefully Edmund can chime in as to how well it clocks.

CPU will be on water, HD 5870 on air.

E8600 and HD4890 Xfire on water.

My previous best stable OC was 4.66GHz on my E8600. I've replaced my X38 with an X48, so I might get farther. The 4890s clock pretty good air & I haven't run them under water yet.

CPU options are limited:
980x
e5200
celeron 420.

GPU options are more open:
gtx570/580 (haven't bought it yet, will though).
4890TOP that'll do 1ghz in most everything.
gtx260 that I'm trying to offload to fund the 580.

Cooling wise I can do air, water, TEC, or dice.
