To begin with, i'm kinda nervous considering this is my first post, but i'll give it a try anyway. Like the title states, i'm trying to find a good motherboard for an i5 4670k preferably something under under or around 110$. I was an idiot and bought an asus p8h61-m not paying attention that the socket on this motherboard is an 1155 instead of an 1150 i'm gonna return the board and look for something else. Thank you for your time.:chair:

Assuming you'll overclock some, any Z87 board should do fine.
If not, you can save money by not getting Z87.

I just bought an ASRock Extreme4 & 4670K in the last week. I'm hoping for 4.5GHz once I start to overclock. I might need to switch from air to water to get there though.

Tell me how it goes! I might end up overclocking as well, only thing that worries me is using water to keep my pc cool, really wouldn't want anything to leak.

I would just purchase a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler and just overclock a little like up to 4.1GHz that is all you need and the cooler is not expensive and any low cost Z87 motherboard will do the job fine.

But the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler says it supports the following intel sockets: LGA 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 775. The i5 4670k has a 1150 socket... Are there adapters to change allow it to mount to an 1150 socket?

The 1150-1155 socket use the same cooler.

I'm using the Hyper 212 on my CPU, fits & cools great. I haven't started to overclock yet though. I still need to finish reading the newer overclocking guide (where's the FSB!!!??? lol).
