doesn't really need much of a sink to cool it, that's the good part about this cpu. and hitting 2.7 on air is really nothing to complain about - this is pretty much faster than 99.9% of cpus out there, intel or amd.

Hi Lat... just felt like following you around, lol.

I didn't know you had the LE on a dothan... what are your 3dmark scores (as well as vcard clocks)?

I got it working again :) finally got the ct-479 resoldered using the 400FSB jumpers (which was a real pain, since the pins pulld out when i was trying to break them off). But it is booting now :), although my OS won't boot anymore :(

hey highlander, which bios are you using on your P4C800 Deluxe? and on your CT-479 is the jumpers set to 400 or 533?

Sorry for delay in replying to this, its the latest P4C800 Deluxe (non- E) on the asus webby.
Set to either 400 or 533, both work fine :)

i tried to oc this 780 with cold water + 300w peltier. unfortunately peltier crapped out (again, fs) when resoldering wires, so coldplate temps were 15-20C hotter than they should :(
but i'm satisfied with this dothan :) at least i have no upgrade path now because it's the best cpu for socket478 :)

anyone do the Vdimm mod using the method shown here ?
Is it the same for all P4C800 boards?
I have similar mod but i've connected the 3.3v line to straight under ram sockets. you can measure which pins are vdd pins.

was happy enough to test another 780.
this time only with inbox.
def vcore (1.3125v), almost 2.8ghz spi1M, 1.35v 2.85G, 1.4v got first error @ 2.9ghz..
and that's about it.
cpu won't go any further.
another weird thing - this 2nd 780 was 10C hotter than mine :confused:

but what a sight :p
