how to utilize ~7tb

Update: running dual boot for now..
windose is still on the barracuda but its losing partitions quickly, only loyal to it because of the apps associated with it. plan to rearrange the sata connections so that the 2x500 are hdd0 and hdd1 leaving the 2tb as hdd2 and the sata dvd's can use the remainders. this is a production pc btw.

it's a Barracuda Green 2TB st2000dl003-9vt166 and its cut up as so:
[C:\sys][D:\tmp][e:\doc][f:\smpl][g:\media][h:\setups]
c: and d: are primary, with pagefile on d: and the remaining are in extended,
but i'm planning on dual booting *nix at some point soon and am about to set
up those partitions.
hdd1 is Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS, 1 partition @ 465gb just used for random storage.
hdd2 hitachi HDP72505GLA360 .5tb and pretty much utilized the same as hdd1.
and lastly 4x usb hdd.. 3xsata hdd + 4xusb hdd = ~7tb

my powered usb drives have the partitions in extended but the wd5000e1msbk 500gb is primary?
oh, and i use a 4gb transmemory for turbo boost or whatever its called, ramboost blah

ANY ideas are welcome!! just burnt linux will be back after install

That is a very confusing setup. Why do you need to partition everything off like that? You are greatly limiting yourself and you certainly don't get a performance increase. What happens if you need more space on a partition? Partitions should be primary unless you have more than four on that drive.

Unless you have a bit of experience with Linux, I would suggest installing that to its own hard drive in case something goes wrong. That way, you won't lose you Windows/Linux install if something goes wrong.

Echo that... Simple is best, and the days of dividing drives up like that are long gone imho.

@Skyline - had the thought before .. its tempting :ninja: but i hear ya

ooh Re: the divisions - yeh i've been set in my ways a while, always thought to keep sound samples away from temp files and such. since op i have installed linux, a few flavours, 10.04 and 12.04, 2sata500 and 2usb500 for those now.

archiving some things and windows will probably lose another drive or two. just seeing what works best.

cheers to the replies
