Hi,

I have an OEM legal XPHOME disc, worked great. A year later though it seems corrupted...why...well during install onto a new SATA HD , I get a repeated dll failure and blue screen.

What are my chances of getting a replacement XP disc? What address would I send it too i.e. does Msoft have a replacement disc option for cases like this?

Ive tried all hardware checks and the SATA HD is brand new....still the dll failiure presents....so it must be a faulty disc...dont see any visible scratches....

Do advise?

Make sure the SATA Mode is in "IDE Mode" or "Legacy" as well. Some boards use AHCI Mode by default nowadays, and I know from experience that will cause BSOD if the RAID/AHCI drivers aren't loaded first with the F6 as shadowdr mentioned.

I just got a new XP install onto a new SSD, works a treat.

Many thanks to all,

Berne
