I took some RAM out of my system last night to test it in a friend's PC. Turns out he doesn't have DDR so I went back to my place and put it back in my PC. When I fired up the computer (no pun), I began to smell the dreaded scent of burning electronics
I immediately unplugged the PC and opened it up. It looked as if I had put the RAM in BACKWARDS, but I have no idea how because RAM is fairly idiot-proof... or so I thought
So, now the system will not boot, and no response from the monitor. I reset the BIOS (wishful thinking) and still nothing.
Did I just FRY the motherboard? Man I feel like a dunce
If it turns out I did fry the mobo, look for a new topic by me asking what the best replacement would be
