laptop issue with shared video

I have a laptop that's a combined intel gma 4000/radeon 7670 (the point is to use the intel when on batteries or something) - however in every program, including benchmarks, the logs only ever state that they're using the intel. I'm not even sure if the amd "card" is being used, but I assume so as the performance doesn't seem as poor as you'd get with an intel, it seems to run modern games okay. Is there any way to test to make sure? Also it doesn't use standard drivers, either the ones from samsung or hacked ones.
