well... the 6200 isn't exactly better.. it does have 64-bit memory and probably turbocache, and turbocache kills performance.. even if it's not turbocache, 64-bit and really low clocks just hurt. The only place the 6200 would beat the 5700 would probably be in DX9 games, wc3 is only like DX8.1, try overclocking it?

the problem is, the FX 5700 is better than the 6200 in msot cases. :-/ Overclock the **** out of it and see if its anybetter. You could look at volt mods if there are any, but i think it would be better if you had bought a better card, like a 6600gt agp, 6800gs, x800gto something like that.

ya the 6200 is like the readheaded adopted step child.... its a piece... you shoulda got a 6600gt AGP like mine... they can be overclocked to gain about 25% performance, which is 20% above a 6800nu pcie 256mb!!!

Sorry to say but like others have said the card is just trash :( sorry for these issues

lol, yeah my brother's 5700 card mops up my 6200 turbo cache (62mb vram, turbo cache, booyah!)

Evga, I'm begging you, send me my new card. :santa:

my 5700 was freakin fast but it was the freakshow 5700.

leave it to leadtek i guess 128 megs of 128bit 950Mhz DDR3. it was an easy overclock to 1000Mhz even on the ram. pretty bitchin card. tested faster than an ex-friends flashed 5900 ultra but i also knew a little bit more about what i was doing with cooling and tweaking things.

I suppose You ruled out a 7800gs based on cost.
You could wait a bit longer until Nvidia releases the
7600gs, 7600gt in agp form which is definitely happening.
This will likely be somewhere between $150 US and $250 US
depending on specs.
I live in Australia and got a MSI 7800GS for $395 AU.

How long have you had it ??
At the the place I shop most of the time you can take it back in X time, or pay a wee re-stocking fee if its after that.
And then you could pay a little bit more and get a 6600gt

All so as others have said the 6200 is a bit sad, sorry mate

I say give overclocking it a try, and try oc'ing your system memory as much as possible and/or tightening up the latencies.

The 256 meg agp 6200 version cards where more often then not from most companies 128 bit cards, not 64 bit. The memory bandwidth is not to much of an issue. But the card is still slower then the 5700. More often then not it runs just as fast as the 5500. With the 6200 you could see if you have an old enough one to be able to unlock the extra pipes essiantially turning it into a 6600. Past that you can OC it. Some OC like a bandit. I've played with others though that cant do it worth crap. Try both of them. If that doesnt work return it and buy a 5900/6600 from a fellow forum member for a reasonable price.

When I had mine it oced well, but of course its fillrate was still crap 4 pipes doesnt do much for ya.

i just bought an EVGA 6200LE 256mb agp, but its not for my gaming rig it replaced my 128mb fx5200 that got moved into my moms machine. its 350/550 so it certainly cant be any worse.

I replaced the 6200 with gigabyte 6600 256mb. This one is turbo force edition. So far it runs smoother than my FX 5700.:santa2:
