Just for completeness, this is the 3D Mark result using my only Radeon 8500 128 MB, for the time being. I must say it is nothing compared to 9700 pro and 9800 pro. Pls don't laugh at the numbers.

I think if you rename the files as .txt they will remote link but I am not sure. Why nopt upload them to www.theforumisdown.com ?

I have XP 1700+WPMW 0310 batch 670 @2.3Ghz on 1.65V and for AC Dr.Thermal V77 is no problem... I unlocked multipiller with burned bridges on 15x (2400+ 15x133mhz) but i can't go under 15x . My PSU (waiting for FSP Fotrtron 350W) giving 4.6V on 2.35Ghz but i think this ferequency its stable . I waiting for my new water block an I'll overclock this cpu with watercooler. Stay tuned sorry for english

Is the Vcore getting from the 5V line. 4.6V is low, also depends on how much it drops between the CPU is idle and under heavy load.

When I used a non-brand name PSU that comes w/ the case, ... For this 1.5V low Vcore rated 1700+, at the last 100 MHz, when it was getting hot 50C, I saw the 5V and 12V line became not stable (esp the 12V line). Also the line voltages went UP instead of down during Prime95, 150 mV for the 5V and 300-400mV for the 12V. The 12V went up to 13.2V (!!!!) while the Vcore fluctuated about 30 mV p-p The mb Vcore regulator is doing the job. Does this indicate something.

Since the Vcore most likely is derived from the 12V (it is a nforce2 mb), some all other Vagp, Vdimm, Vdd should not be a problem since they are from the 3.3V (30A max), 5V (28 A max) lines.

I used a dual PSU setup to test this, by moving the HD, DVD, all fans, floppy, ... to another PSU. It worked a bit better with no vertical line video corruption that I mentioned previously, but it did not solve the PSU line instability at the top end of 1.8V Vcore.

So I thought my chip on air might be maxed out at around 2400-2500 MHz around 40-50 C die temperature, unless I go to liquid cooling to keep the die temperature and leakage current low.

Then anyway, I got a TP430 PSU, immediately I saw the 5V and 12V are much much more stable (within ~ 100mV, the spec is +-3% for 5V and 12V for the TP430) than the old PSU when cranking Prime95 and I was able to get the 1700 DLT3C running stable above 2.5 GHz.

For getting a new PSU for the last 100 MHz may not make sense for price performance, but it just shows the important of current for these high current high power chips running at 2.5+ GHz. Same will hold true for any CPU running above 2.5-3 GHz.

A CPU running at 1.9V at 2.5GHz takes about 40% more active current and about 56% more active power than a CPU running at 1.7V at 2GHz.

I = C V f
P = C V^2 f

I_1.9V_2.5GHz/I_1.7V_2GHz = 1.9 x 2.5 / (1.7 x 2) = 1.40
P_1.9V_2.5GHz/P_1.7V_2GHz = 1.9 x 1.9 x 2.5 / (1.7 x 1.7 x 2) = 1.56
