How do you setup a modem in Linux?

The only thing holding me back with Mandrake is the modem. Could someone go through what I ment to do with it. I'm so sure I've done thing correctly, and its found what type of modem it is to.
 
Probably check out the docs at linmodems.org, I have the feeling you've got a winmodem from looking at your other thread.
