From what I have heard the "4" doesn't do too badly.

High? Yes.... that high? No

These temps are too high and either your temp is being read improperly or you don't have ur WB seated to well.

The 8K3A reads temps from the internal diode in the XP CPU.

Edit: BTW, don't trust the in-socket temp reading when using an XP.....its way off......always use Winbond P2 Diode or whatever it is

DANG! Block was mounted correctly full print of AS3 on it when I took it off remounted it and put in on tighter this time and still around 60C at idle......

im stumped on this one...

my water setup is enough to cool a 1.4ghz tbird @1.65ghz generating 100watts of heat this thing is only making 63watts.

ill remount it a third time just in case something funny is going on

room is AC, turns out shim was too thick

currently running @ 1.8ghz w/1.9v @ 51C full load 48C idle

kinda high considering its making 93watt of heat and my tbird was making 100 watts of heat when i killed it, that was running 34C idle 38C full load.. and the insocket thingy on my Iwill was pretty acurate

Yeah those temps are about the same as mine... Really high with the 8K3a+... is that when your running prime95? or max load? If not then heh.. i'd look into some better radiator... all copper.

The 8K3A/+ reads the on die sensor inside the core of the CPU. Temps read higher with this reading but they are accurate. Insocket thermistors blow chunks and are inaccurate and lie. My H20 setup gives me 48-52C load running folding 24/7. I have a XP 1600 @ 1.9G 2.05V. On my 8kha+ my temps read as 37-39C load with the insocket thermistor. These temps are coming FROM INSIDE THE DIE OF THE CPU where it is much hotter than the surface. Keep things under 65C and your fine.
