hey guys i am running some benches on my athlon 1600+ right now and i am doing them at around 1.8ghz. i am using sandra 2002 SP1. it can beat the 2.4ghz P4 and comes very close to the 2.66 one. However it gets destroyed by the Pentium 4-B 2SMT 2.66GHZ 512k chip. What does 2SMT mean? does this mean dual 2.66 chips?

anyone know?

Actually the SMT is simultaneous multi-threading, so it's not actually 2 physical processors, but more like a way to have a single cpu process more than one thread at a time. A single SMT chip will appear as two cpu's to the operating system. A dual cpu system will appear as 4 cpu's to the OS, etc.
