Well, how's the bios? What advantages does it offer over the latest abit bios? Inquiring minds want to know.

I'd love to know what the Mr. Natural bios does for you that the factory supplied bios can't. Is it worth the time? What enhancements does it offer? What about stability or buggish issues, does it possess either?

mr.naturals bios version 8z

Hi...

Flashed my it7max with mr.naturals bios version 8z. It seems the flashing is worth something. Now i can overclock to 166fsb , i couldn't do that with version 8y. And the temperature reading seems to be more accurate then ever , getting 55c at full load , 42 at idle.

Anybody noticed any other changes by using mr.naturals bios version 8z??? Please report back....

Getting around 12795 in 3dmark 2001 se.

I just red the abits it7max usermanual (for the first time). Under section 4.3 Bios Setup For Raid. It says : After completed the installation of HPT374 driver , you have to enable the raid function in BIOS setup menu. Enter the "Advanced BIOS Features" in the BIOS setup menu. Change the settings of "First Boot Device" , "Second Boot Device" , "Third Boot Device" to "ATA133RAID" Can anyone explain this

Let me see if I understand your 1st, 2nd, 3rd boot device question rght. You want to know why you have to reenter the bios and set the boot order?
First off, after installing the RAID drivers the machine doesn't know if you intend on using the RAID or the plain old IDE ports for your main/OS boot harddrive. If you're installing WinXP it's best to set the 1st boot device as your CD Rom, then maybe 2nd boot as ATA 133 RAID, & 3rd as your floppy. Really nowdays the floppy is almost useless except for flashing the bios and installing those RAID drivers. This is simply the order in which the machine searches for the boot OS.
My explanation may not be spot on technically but I hope it gets the idea across.

answers'!!

CSHawkeye81 : Right now i am listening to mp3 using winamp 2.80 , while i am running divx conversion (vcd-->divx ) using virtualdub , no lagging.

the temperature is : 55C

rbbnet : i have good understanding about raid and stuff. I always set this in bios : " First Boot Device" : cdrom , "Second Boot Device" : ATA133RAID...
I just wanted to share the knowledge i got from the abit it7max manual...I thought this was funny...

CDIER,
OK, so I misunderstood your message. I was wonderin' how the hell you got it to work at all if you never went back into the bios and set the RAID as the 1st boot device.

BTW, have you ran any benches on your RAID setup? I have/had the IT7 running two 80GB WD Specials on RAID 0 before my mobo flaked out. Sisoft Sandra reported a number a lil over 51000. I came so close to buying the Maxtor ATA133 liquid bearing drives myself. I just want to know what I missed out on if anything. I can't wait for my new board to come in... NewEgg is in the process of returning it now.

well what drivers areyou using for your raid controller, it might be either the board or the raid drivers, but i had this happen to me before and it was just a driver update to fix it.
