XP virtual memory

So I'm running 0mb of virtual memory, recomends 1150mb or at least 2mb. Ran fine for about 3 weeks, then it crashes loading a level in SOFII. Not enough virtual memory windows will adjust, nothing. Anyway I rebooted with no problems and everything is okay. Should I (A) Give XP some virtual memory. (B) Unclock my memory a bit currently at 162.5 cas 2-2-2-5 or. (C) Buy a mobo that has more memory bandwith, ie RAMBUS. I tend to lean more towards C. But I would like a second or third opinion.
