Need 1.65V for 1.6a @ 2.4 on boot-up => which pins do I Wire Trick ?

Hi all !

Looks like my P4B-266-SE is suffering from the cold/warm boot-up problem - as in intermittent throw backs into the BIOS on cold and warm boot-ups.

I know the pins to connect for the 1.70V wire trick, but I only need 1.65V to run my O/C.....

So.....

Can someone please advise which pins I need to wire trick in order to get a default boot-up CPU voltage of 1.65V ?

Thanks.

get on the phone with intel and send that sucker back, that is ridiculious. my 1.6a does 140 fsb on default voltage. 1.5v

Just cause yours does doesn't mean they all do. I needed 1.625 to get mine to 2.4 Ghz. Besides, we are running at 150 on the FSB, not 140.

Looks like 1.7 is the lowest setting, doesn't your board have voltage settings or is the SE missing the option in the bios? You should be able to get the voltage you want in the bios if it's adjustable without wrapping the pins.

Hi mjones73

Yes, my CPU voltage runs all the way up to 1.775......

BUT, I was told that I need to wire trick the CPU to overcome my "cold-boot" problem..

What I was told was this......on boot-up, the system delivers 1.5V to the CPU and *then* once the BIOS paramenters are read into the boot-up process, that is when 1.65V is applied to the CPU - so in effect, all systems boot up for the first couple of seconds at default voltage, and only increase to the bios selected voltage value once the bios is read during the boot-up process.....

So...in order to make my setup use 1.65V from the *instant* I hit the power button, I must wire trick the CPU ....

Does this sound right to you ?

Hello again.....First of all,what have you done about your boot up problem?....and as for the cold boot you ask,you HAVE to do the vid pin trick to boot the system(at least 1,7VCore---the 1,65VCore is a litlle bit diffecult)....
