Well, there has been a large influx of design theories lately and the brainiacs are still calculating (probably a never ending task seeing as the application of thermodynamic theories are still being improved upon in complex situations). Thanks for the comments Maskedgeek, I'll try to address them.
It's hard to imagine the scale, probably because I didn't provide one, but the very top is only 3/4" and the total ht. of the block is about 1 3/4". Because it is a circle, I designed the block to evenly exit the water as it flows over the raised outer limits where some heat is stored away from the core, just two side exits wouldn't do the trick.
