hey i have a friend who i found out has like 768 kbit/s upload speed and ive been trying to think of things you can do with that kind of power =) anyone have cool ideas besides the obvious, http, hotline, etc.

Get a cheap rig with an older AMD or Intel cpu and a big HD and set up the computer as a Server. Put linux or 2kServer on it and host a ftp site. Your friend could give out access to people he knows with a general username(or make specific username for each person) and it would allow those people to pull mp3's, vcd's, mpegs, avi's etc. off his HD. You could for example only give access to people who give you a CD-R full of movies or songs. It would build up the library quickly and be a nice service to give out to friends.
