alright dudes, i need you opinions on what i should be looking at for a HSF for a 1.6Ghz Celly, i won't be overclocking it anytime soon, but i will probaly end up doing so sometime in the future, but i would like your suggestions for the besf HSF for this chip, price dosen't really matter, i would be willing to spend 40-50 on it if i had to

i checked out a website of a local vendor

they had a ThermalTake Volcano 6Cu, it throws 40CFM at 39dB, the noise isin't an issue for me, all my rigs are air cooled
the website said that it would support "INTEL 1.13Ghz-Tualtian Up To 2.0Ghz"

the HSF has a groovy copper insert for better heat transfer

for $25, anyone have any experience with this HSF?

I have that Heatsink and I think that is not very good unless you change the fan that comes with it....I would suggest a Swiftech MCX 462...or equivalent for pentium...or an Alpha ....those two are the best in the market....If you want a thermaltake then buy the Volcano 7+ That is the best thermaltake that you will find....

In my opinion, the Volacno 6 is not a good heatsink regardless of what fan you use.

So have a look at www.svcompucycle.com and get a copper heatsink with fan like this one:

The best is that it's only 6,25$ and it's really enough for your Celeron,I think. Add some Arctic Silver III for 4.99$ as thermal interface material on the bottom of the page and you'll have great cooling for only a few bucks.

Hey Cowboy, listen to Norbe. Go with the Alpha, it's nearly as good as the Swiftech, but cheaper. You can install about any 80mm fan on it too. Maybe stick a low noise fan on it at first, then when you decide to crank it up and overclock it, swap in a high output fan. Check out the link.

Sorry Batboy, but I think you misunderstood something here! He tries to find a heatsink/fan combo for a Celeron Tualatin @1,6GHz, so the Alpha PAL8942 won't fit because it's a Pentium 4 heatsink(Socket478)! He's in need of a good , and I think well priced, Socket370 heatsink!
