Performance can be effected by many things. Have you installed all your software back on the machine? Some programs have components that open when the systems starts or remain open after closing the program. You might check your taskmanager window and see if there are any processes that are hogging processing time. If you do see one that is and can't identify what its tied to, run a file search for the process name. That hopefully will be the cause of the problem. If you can't track it down to a process, have you installed any windows updates recently. You might try uninstalling the update and seeing if that helps the performance. try reinstalling and see if you had a bad install.
