52C to 54C was the correct temp before I increased the vcore from 1.575 to 1.6V...

when it crashed at 1.6V setting, I could not tell what the temp was...

If it's not heat...what do you think it might be ????

How hot is too hot? after all at 1.6V I was able to play quake3 online for about 20 to 25 minutes before it crashed

if for any other reasosn for the crash..such as memory or wrong settings...would it have lasted 20 minutes of intense quake3 online?

Well that probably increased your temps a bit but Intel procs can still handle more without crashing (not that it's advisable to run it that hot all the time) plus they will throttle themselves down when they get too hot to keep from self destructing.
