Someone Have A Poor Perfomance Using Raid With Promise Raid Controller Kt3ultra-aru?
Please submit your perfomance scores using Sisoft Sandra, HD Tach or similar, if you use the Promise RAID controller in Perfomance mode (with 2 hard disk).
We have 2 Seagate Barracuda IV 7.200 rpm 40 Gb UMDA100 both connected in master mode to the Promise controller into a MSI- KT3 Ultra ARU mainboard, using 80 pin IDE cables (45cm long).
We create a Perfomance RAID 0 system, and install Win2000 Server Edition, with latest Promise Drivers an SP2.
We use Sisoft Sandra 2002 and HD Tach (the latest version), and we found (using all promise modes: Desktop, A/V Editing and Server) a poor perfomance.
For example, Sisoft Sandra offer to us an score near of 21.000. That´s an lower score than a single UDMA66 30 Gb IDE HD.

With HD Tach, we obtain a 24 MBps average, with 38 MBps Peak. If we use ONLY ONE HD, we obtain 28-30 MBps average and 43 MBps Peak.
