modem question plz hlp

what si the difference between 56K flex and V.90?

i want to knwo which woudl be better to use

and i keep gertting kicked off for no apperent reason ( nto cuz of some1 calling) any ideas as to y this may be (besdes bad phone cords/wireing in my house)?

i have a 56K diamond modem and use earthlink as my ISP THNKS

for best results, call your ISP.. find out what modems they use, and buy one like it for yourself.

It may be kicking you for many reasons:
-Idle timeout, if you aren't doing anything on the connection
-they may have a timer set up to kick you after x number of minutes (some ISPs do this to kick the people who dial up and leave their computers on all day/night and put a large load on the server.)
-could be bad wiring, but that rarely happens, it's usually bad performance instead.
-someone else is using your login? (it should keep you connected, and tell them they'res a duplicate logon, but you never know)

try and call your ISP and see what reasons they give you.
