I cant get my dsl modem to sync up with my isp. I didnt get the modem from them, but I know it will work with them. Modem is a westell, i THINK its a 516, the model number is A90-36R210. I think it may be that the firmware needs to be updated, but i cant get it to install / cant find the right one. Iv talked to my ISP tech support, but the guy who knows something about dsl isnt in this weekend Nobody home on weekends at the westell number either

Another thing that seems kindof strange is that im not recieving ANY packets from the modem. Im sending plenty, but not getting any back EXCEPT in safe mode. In safe mode i am able to use the westell adsl modem utility to try to update the firmware (if i had a firmware), but in normal windows it cant access the modem. Anybody else ever see anything like this.

O yah, because i now have dsl on my line and i dont have any filters yet my dialup is sucking too, 28.8 and less

Make sure all your phones in your house have a filter installed on them or your DSL modem will not sync up, if it still doesn't sync, call your ISP if your line should be active (your live date has past).

And don't run that dial up modem on a filter-less jack...you may end up with a 56k paperweight.
