hey guys, im new to the forum, i was wondering what happened if i putted a 120mm fan in the back part of my external 3com cable modem.... will it run faster?

i have noticed that the modem tends to heat very much, like an old 486 processor.

I would be greatful if you could give me any reviews on this.

thanks

ps: The ambient temperature is about 14°c-18°C tops (57°F-64°F tops).

Putting a fan on it would make it run cooler and maybe last longer, but it would not run faster without doing further changes to the modem hardware or firmware.

No this is all controlled on the server end ..Although you can try and tweak your OS settings to optimize download and upload speeds...
