xp 2200 on a board that says it can only run a 2100?

would the 2200's fit on my board ? my board says it can support upto the 2100(with the new bios revision) i dont see why it cant run the 2200?


also sorry if this is wrong forum.. seemed like right one to me

If the bios update says it only supports up to 2100 then it only supports up to 2100. The 2200 will fit though.

Are you refering to this mobo: Asus A7A266?

yes the a7a266 is correct

so it will support a 2200?

What PCB version is your motherboard? According to Asus, if your PCB is 1.10 or higher and you flash your bios to 1012.001 the 2200 should work.

That bios is a beta & I have no idea of how well it works.

thats some good info! my mobo is version 1.10... im gonna wait till the beta drivers are official.. i aint takin that risk yet
