Noise-what a pain

I like having my PC running as best it can but I hate hearing the damn thing. Perhaps insanely I have a 12cm fan attatched to the side directlyover My Geforce. But it's so noisey I rarely connect it-I've tried finding a rheostat for it but can't seem to find any suitable in the UK, is there anyway I can quieten the system down as I don't like my computer sounding like a hoover!?

Also do you think my big fan should blow in or suck out? I have a filter for it that clips on nicely.
any thoughts?
Cheers

Is your fan running off the 12v line or the 5v line. If it's hooked up to 12v then see if it will run on the 5v. It would run slower and quieter.

I usually set mine to blow, seems to work better for my systems.
