plugins in GkrellM

gkrellm is not seeing my plugins. i put them in /usr/lib/gkrellm/plugins and in /usr/local/lib/gkrellm/plugins. the readme for gkrellm says that it checks both of those directories for plugins. whats is the problem here?

im using mandrake 8.2 and the plugin im trying to use is the one for acpi.
