Question seti and win95


hey all, i tried running seti on a computer with win95 but it say's some file is missing or something like that i think it was ws2_32.something i think that was the name of the file.

Anyone know how to fix that ?

Well, if you get the exact name of the file you can try copying it from a 98 box. <shrug>

Probably something to do with the required winsock update. I forget exactly how to do that. I'll try to dig up more information if no one else can point you in the right direction.

EDIT: Okay, found it. This information is available on the team site, links page. You'll need to DL and install the winsock 2.0 upgrade for Win95 available here. That link is listed on the team site, as well as the link to the SETI FAQ, which offers the same information. HTH

well i tried installing the update and i get an error about tcp/ip not being installed, when it is... tried uninstalling then installing it and still no go....

any ideas?

alright then, what version of linux will run on:

386 16mhz
4mb ram
512k vid card
174mb hd
no cd drive
nic



but seriously, is there a way to apply the upgrade without the install files....could i use windows update?

If I remember correctly it has something to do with the internet explorer...Have to download I think....Some damn patch I can't remember sorry.......
