Mixed DDR

Mixed RDRAM

Ok I know that RDRAM has to be installed in pairs. Friend of mine has 2 256 meg sticks of Crucial PC 800 and he wants to get 2 512meg sticks of the same. Can he add the 2 512 sticks into his 3rd and 4th slot and keep the 1st and 2nd slot populated with the 2 256 chips?

I've always used DDR or SDRAM myself so I don't know

Sorry I miss-posted earlier my question was involving the pairing of RDRAM not DDR. I edited the post.

Yeah that should work fine from what I remember about rdram. You might have to place the 512's in the first two slots though. The best reference would be the motherboard manual on this.
