so, i'm building this system for a friend, keep cost in mind, which is better, the 9000 or the 8500, and performance wise, which one is on top???

never mind, saw a review, 9000 is still a bit behind 8500, so at newegg 9000 is for $85 8500LE is for $88, i should go with 8500?? i'm looking for things under $100, if you got something better in mind, please do share.

Yeah the 8500 is definetly better then the 9000. The 8500 is a very good card, it runs almost as fast as the GF4 Ti 4200 in most games. The 8500 is better then the GF3 Ti 500 IMO. The next step up from the 8500 would be the GF4 Ti 4200 and I think it will cost you more then $100 so I think the 8500 is the way to go.

get an 8500LE 128 DDR very good cards and price is good plus they all overclock nearly to 300/300. with a bios flash it is a pretty much given

cisco kid:burn:

between these two, which one is better?? thanks

I believe OEM Bulks are LELE's,(PLEASE correct me if I am wrong!!!), which run at 230MHZ instead of 250 MHZ. (Or just get him the RADEOM 9000, tell him that its as fast as a 400 dollar card......which is true, anyone want proof?)

id like a bit o proof on that one, unless your talking about the matrox, i think its faster still tho (im not brushed up on speed scores, and i know the matrox has great image quality)

i like my 8500 64 ddr le OEM clocks stock @ 230/230 , will do 250/250 with stock cooling and just some 80mms blowing on it, sure is way better than my old tnt2 ultra

decent scores considering im still runing a none xp athlon

winter isnt hear yet , and im working on water for cooling ,and some more cooling on video card pluss volt mods. hope to hit 8500+ 3d marks

GET THE NEWEGG $88 8500LE!!

this board comes with 3.3ns memory and runs like a bat out of hell. I added an old Pentium HSF and it will run 300/315 all day. It is clocked at 250/275 by defualt

The only downside about this card is it does not have the 2nd ramdac to allow for dual monitors. I wouldn`t use it if I had it so it was a non issue for me
