t-bird and multiplier

i'm having problems with my mobo and changing the fsb, it starts to do wierd things. instead i'm playing with the multiplier but cant go any higher than 11x (10.5 is standard).

can anyone throw some reasons at me as to why?

i've been able to post up to nearly 1.7GHz and can boot and run just under 1.6, i'd probably need to wc to stay there tho.

Yeah you can boot at 1.7 but you won't do much better than 1.6 plus on air,thats your max. Look at my stats for rig #2 1.4 bird on air @1603.Thats it bro unless you go to water.

oh, i know i probably couldnt go any higher. but i'd like to up the mult a bit more since at high fsb it is my cards that are dropping out on me first. my soundblaster is the first to go i think

as well if i make any changes at all to my fsb (from 133) my computer will not restart. it flickers and hangs so i'd like to do as much as possible cpu wise without messing with the fsb. it will cold boot tho.

1600-1700 seems to be a reasonable end point with air for the tbirds. You are lucky to get that high
