Just trying to get more atention on this one, as the ECS mobo forum is quiet!

I was in #ocsetiteam describing my problem...

<DanFraser> guys
<DanFraser> i need help
<DanFraser> with comp hardware
<DanFraser> i think my mobo has summat wrong with it
<rogerdugans> Ok: refresh my weak mind: whats it doing?
<DanFraser> lol
<DanFraser> its a K7S6A
<DanFraser> it was originally in another comp until i could be bothered to put it in my main comp
<DanFraser> its a decent oc mobo
<DanFraser> in the other comp
<DanFraser> no troubles
<DanFraser> running at 150FSB @1.775v
<DanFraser> nothing apparently wrong
<DanFraser> temps fine, voltages fine etc
<DanFraser> then i put it in my main comp
<DanFraser> faster cpu, more stuff in it
<DanFraser> seemed fine
<DanFraser> (i was testing it at stock)
<DanFraser> then i oc'ed it
<DanFraser> no problems
<DanFraser> then my network connection on this comp started getting screwy
<DanFraser> would keep cutting out
<DanFraser> and it still did it at stock speeds
<DanFraser> so out came that nic
<DanFraser> and in goes another
<DanFraser> all ok
<Yodums> what kind of nic
<DanFraser> one a 3com
<Yodums> replaced the cat5 cable/
<DanFraser> one an intel
<DanFraser> yeah
<DanFraser> but it gets worse
<DanFraser> even AFTER reinstalling XP to see if that was the cause
<DanFraser> it has started happening again
<DanFraser> network connection goes screwy
<rogerdugans> Using dhcp or static ip?
<DanFraser> and sound becomes messed up
<DanFraser> static
<DanFraser> dhcp is fine
<DanFraser> but for easy times i use static
<DanFraser> and to clear the sound fault
<DanFraser> i have to reboot
<DanFraser> i was thinking maybe drivers for my SiS745 chipset?
<DanFraser> but no...
<DanFraser> no new ones aimed at anything like this
<DanFraser> just USB fixes
<rogerdugans> how about irq sharing? NT5 kernel likes to set everything on one irq. Is that the conflict maybe?
<DanFraser> im stuck
<DanFraser> um
<rogerdugans> What oses have you used?
<DanFraser> the network card is on IRQ 18!?
<DanFraser> XP
<DanFraser> i hate 98
<rogerdugans> What about the sound card?
<DanFraser> im thinking this is hardware anyway
<DanFraser> shared on irq 16 (!?) with the GFX card
<DanFraser> the GFX is fine...
<rogerdugans> You are probably righ, but I like to exhaust EVERY possible thing.....
<DanFraser> expected
<rogerdugans> You've tried various different pci slots, right?
<DanFraser> yeah
<rogerdugans> brb
<DanFraser> IRQ 0 System timer OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 3 Communications Port (COM2) OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 6 Standard floppy disk controller OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 12 PS/2 Compatible Mouse OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 16 NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600 OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 16 Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM) OK
<DanFraser> IRQ 18 3Com 3C905TX-based Ethernet Adapter (Generic) OK
<DanFraser> sorry for the flood!
<DanFraser> i have LOADS of IRQs spare
<DanFraser> i hate it when comps mess them about
<DanFraser> dugans?
<DanFraser> where you gone?
<rogerdugans> You should still be able to force irqs in BIOS- although it doesn't sound as though it will help..
<rogerdugans> Have you tried without the sound card and sound drivers?
<rogerdugans> Had to go grab another power cable
<DanFraser> yeah
<DanFraser> still cruds out
<DanFraser> could it be heat affecting it in some way?
<DanFraser> it aint creepage
<rogerdugans> So pretty much you have exhausted all the possibilities- only the mobo is left that I can think of.
<rogerdugans> Weird.
<DanFraser> yeah
<DanFraser> but everything else is fine
<DanFraser> apart from v. low vcore
<DanFraser> 1.7
<DanFraser> stock settings in bios
<rogerdugans> The only other thing I can think of- and it SHOULDN"T work- is using a cheap nic.
<DanFraser> and 12.33 for the 12v
<rogerdugans> Can you increase that any?
<DanFraser> i do have cheap nics
<DanFraser> both of them
<rogerdugans> the 5v.
<DanFraser> 4.96
<DanFraser> steady
<DanFraser> temps are ruddy high
<DanFraser> 51c atm
<DanFraser> running seti
<rogerdugans> Temps won't make a difference on a nic- not at the levels a mobo can take.
<rogerdugans> I can't see voltage doing it either....but I suppose it is possible
<DanFraser> how easy is the enermax 431W to mod?
<DanFraser> could upping my 5v a bit help with the vcore?
<rogerdugans> DOH! I meant vcore- 5v on my mind from another thread......That should make a difference either......
<DanFraser> apart from this i have still et to have a crash in winXP
<DanFraser> i have just thought of something
<rogerdugans> Strange man. Have you got a thread on it in the forums?
<DanFraser> MOST
<DanFraser> of the time
<rogerdugans> Whats that?
<DanFraser> this happens when 'streaming' video over my lan
<DanFraser> most of the time
<DanFraser> but when i was oc'ed it happened after five minutes after boting up
<DanFraser> *booting

Any ideas? Please!? This problem is voltages, temps (possibly, but probably just bad cooling) and that darn nework/sound thing... Please throw anything AND everything this way!
