This is an official microsoft service pack that they have hosted on their server. No bollocks!

Interesting read, but a lot of trouble for only one intall on one machine. Might be handy for an OEM box builder making multiple up to date XP/sp1 installs.

If I get xp, I'll install sp1 just after the OS is up and running with basic hardware driver support installed. I also grabbed an xp boot floppie image that has all the basic setup tools like FDISK, format and CD-ROM drivers to prep the HD and then start the install from the CD.
