Abit 370-dl Sloket +celeron processor 1.1gb...on the bx motherboards
hi........
I WANT TO PUT MY CELERON 1.1GHZ SL5XR ON MY OLDER MOTHERBOARDS ........I HAVE :AGA-686LX4.....THAT I HAVE UPDATE WITH THE LATTEST BIOS AND HAVE JUST UP TO 100MHZ DIPSWICH ON THE BOARD AND UP TO 5.5 MULTIPLY FACTOR.....A HOT 661 THAT HAVE UP TO 150 MHZ DIPSWICH AND ....AUTO + UP TO 5 MULTIPLY SWICH ........A M726 THAT HAVE UP TO 133 MHZ SWITCH +UP TO 8 MULTIPLY SWITCH .....AND A DELL COMPUTER OPTIPLEX GX1p..........ALL THIS ARE SLOT 1 MOTHERBOARD AND I WANTED TO UPDATE THIS BOARDS TO TAKE BIGGER PROCESSORS AN I BOUGHT A ASUS 370 SLOKET ...S370-DL REV1.02 FABRICATED END OF 2001 ....AND I HAVE ALSO A 370 SLOKET WITH AUTO SWICH NOT WITH VOLTAGE ON BOARD LIKE ASUS SLOKET .MY PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN TO PUT ON ANY OF THIS SLOKETS ANY OF LOWER CELERONS LIKE 400 MHZ SL3A2 OR CIRYX 600 MHZ I HAVE NOT ANY PROBLEM RUNNING THE MOTHERBOARDS BUTH AFTER I PUT A CELERON 733MHZ SL4P3 OR THE 1.1GHZ SL5X5 THE MOTHERBOARDS FAIL TO START ......ON THE DELL 733 MHZ WORKS BUTH THE BIGGER ONE IS NOT WORKING ......AS I BEEN TO VARIOS FORUMS TO LOOK FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THIS INFORMATIONS FOR UPGRADING THE PROCESSORS I REALIZE THAT IT IS POSIBLE TO WORK UP TO 1.4 GHZ ON THE BX MOTHERBOARDS ......BUTH MOST THE INFORMATIONS ARE ON TUALATIN PROCESSORS AND MINE IS NOT A TUALATIN ......PLEASE HELP ME TO KNOW WHAT PINS TO ISOLATED OR WHAT MODIFICATION TO MAKE ON THE SLOKET TO MAKE MY PROCESSORS TO WORK ON MY MOTHERBOARDS .THANK YOU VERY MUCH...............PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.Tank you

Some of those slotkets have a jumper setting for the older PPGA Celerons and the newer Coppermine Celerons/P-III. My old Abit Slotket had the jumper marked Celeron and CU (the chemical appreviation for copper). The Celeron setting was for the older PPGA and the CU setting was for the Coppermines. Check for that first.

thank you for answer me ...........and regarding that setting ,,,yes i have set the jumper on the coppermine site and still with the biger celerons 750...and 1ghz still i cannot use them ....i read loots of post abouth overcloking and all said that 1 ghz must work on bx motherboards..........maibe i have to make some modification like the tualatin processor........please help me to rezolve this problem.thank you

If your Slotket is not FCPGA compatible, you can do this mod to make FCPGA CPU's work...

Do you know what REV Slotket you have?

Done it myself, and AM currently typing on a Asus S370-D REV 1.01 (PPGA only) modded for coppermines, runnung my old 633 @ 950 right now.

THANK YOU i think all my two slokets .....asus 370-dl rev1.02.....and aa370a rev1.0...???i do not know the model of last one .......all said on box that suport -370 PPGA/FC-PGA PROCESSORS....AND NORMALY MUST WORK frequency 66/100/133 MHZ the asus have jumpers for voltage on the sloket.i think something is wrong here .thank you

If Asus claims that the sockets are FC-PGA capatible,...
S370DL REV1.0+, S370-D REV 1.03, S370-133, S370-L REV 1.01
(Asus has pretty much stopped supporting slotkets, so its a little hard to find much info on them)

Some older boards need the CPU to be at least 1.8V or they cant post, so you can also give that a try.

i am sure that this (asus) sloket it is fc-pga compatible this have 2001-11-06 as date code and i am sure that they do not release this last year on november and to not be compatible with fc-pga processors..........maibe the voltage is one problem i do not know ....buth i will give a try at 1.8 volt ......my celerons runs 733mhz-at 1.7volt......1.1ghz-at 1.75 volts.......please if you tell me what it is the maximum voltage that is safe to run this processors.thank you

1.8V should be safe to run the CPU's at.....
Will be safe for short term use for sure (just to see if they will post)....

For long term use, 1.8V like i said should be ok...
But as i dont know your temps, all i can say is Should be Safe....
I have run 1.95V through a coppermine with air...
2.3V with watter (I do not recomend that to anyone as SAFE EVER)...
But 1.8, you shoundt have have a problem with
