A friend of mine gave me his Gateway PC to refurbish. It's 2-3 years old and has an (old) GF256 card with digital, analog and TV out. He also has an LCD monitor with only one (digital) input...

Turns out that the video card is shot, producing vertical lines in analog and digital. I swapped out the busted fan, but it's too late card won't improve with an new fan. So...

What is my cheapest solution to get him back to his digital LCD monitor? I know the GF 4 4200s have digital outs, but I was wondering whether there is something less costly (local retail is abot $200 incl. tax) out there. How about the MX cards? Performance is not key, since he uses the machine for office work mainly.

Thanks
