DVD-Player Sound output AC3/DTS...

Hi
I asked in another post for a good DVD-Player.
I'm searching here all the time, and got a question now.
I actually wanted an DVD-Player with AC3 and DTS decoder.
Now my question.
Later i'll have to connect the speakers to the dvd player.(front left, front right, center, rear right, rear left and subwoofer)
So for the speakers i'd need an analog output for the DTS/AC3?
But what do the DVD-Players without AC3 / DTS decoder do?
Can i connect speakers to the dvd (digitally conected) and the speaker system will do the decoding of AC3/DTS/MPEG2 ??

If yes, then i could by a dvd player without AC3 decoder and without DTS decoder, and get a good dvd player for all the other things i want. And then get a set of boxes that will handle all the audio stuff.

Just foudn this DVD-Player: Pioneer DV-C503

Dolby Digital decoder no
DTS decoder no
progressive scan no
THX certified no
Karaoke no
NUON no

DTS output yes
Dolby Digital output yes
optical digital output yes
coaxial digital output yes
component video output yes
s-video output yes

It can't decode anything (audio) but it has the connections for everything.
So if i'd take this one here, could i connect a set of boxes digitally to it, and the box would decode AC3 DTS ...?
And how do you connect it for AC3 decoding and for DTS decoding? is that the same connection or 2 different?

Edit:
This one here: Sony DVP-S570D has a dolby digital decoder, but no dolby digital output. It also has an DTS decoder and dts output. So what can i do with the AC3 decoder, if there is no output for it? or is it kind of shared with the dts output?

If the DVD player has a dolby digital decoder then you can plug all of the audio cables into a non dolby digital receiver (Front L&R, rear L&R, center and sub), provided your receiver has inputs for all of those cables. It is exactly the same for DTS. Also if the DVD player does have the decoder you should be able to set it up as below too, if you do have a dolbydigital/DTS receiver.

If your DVD player doesnt have a DTS or dolby digital decoder then you will need a receiver that does have the decoders to get 5.1 sound, provided the DVD player has digital outputs (coaxial or optical... optical sounds better/louder). You would probably have to enable digital out (PCM/RAW/AC3) in the DVD players settings.

IMO using the digital outs (coaxial/optical) is better since it only requires one cable to be connected between the DVD player and receiver, plus it sounds better. Some people claim DTS is better then dolby digital 5.1 since it has higher compression, thus it can hold more audio info... I dont buy into it DD 5.1 sounds great and DTS sounds pretty much identicle.

So with that pioneer DVD player you posted you can have DD 5.1 or DTS sound if your receiver has DD 5.1 or DTS decoding (and inputs)... you will also need a digital optical cable to connect the 2 together (or a coaxial digital cable, you can use a standard RCA cable in place of the digital coaxial cable).
