Fan on HS blow in or out??

Just got paranoid about my HSF. I have it blowing away from the heat sink, which I just assumed was correct when I built it. Just to be 100 percent sure, is this right?

Some HSF were designed to blow in, while some were designed to blow out, like the Alpha series. Which HSF you got there?

aren't there also some that aren't meant to have a fan on them for low noise applications ?

The MCX462+ is the same as the MCX462, its designed to have the fan blowing in at the heatsink.
