Its two am so I'm not going to go shopping for you but any RAID card will also change the bus speed of your drives to whatever is listed for the card. So a ATA133 RAID card, like the one from Promise or Highpoint, will send data at up to 133MB/sec or at whatever the speed of your drive is.

so i was right? and can u hook up only 1 harddrive to a RAID card?

The RAID cards I have worked with will allow you to connect IDE drives to them without setting up a RAID. I even had CD-ROMs connected to mine. Worked just like a normal IDE controller.

Looking at the one in the link you posted it has 2 ide ports. If you wanted to use it for RAID 0 or 1, you would want to have 2 hard drives, set them both for master, and put 1 on each channel ideally. If you wanted to use it for a regular IDE controller, you could put 4 drives on it (master/slave) just like you would on your mobo.
