i have a kr7a-133 abit board and a 2200 amd xp + currently but i have hit a slight problem. my problem is that my motherboard doesnt support the 2200+ with the current bios and i have to install the new bios. now can i do this with out actualy haveing to put in a processor it works with?

incase its something else i missed here is what it does. it turns on all power for the system (fans, cd, floppy and hd) but then just sits there i checked the abit manual and it says up to 2000+

i had tested system with the 2000+ and it worked but i returned that becuase i got a 2200+ for dirt cheap.

thanks for your help in advanced

yeah your going to have to put a compatible chip in, and then install the new bios. then you can go back and put the 2200+ in and it will boot.
