have to reinstall soundcard every boot up

i have no idea what happened to my computer...my sounblaster audiopci has to be reinstalled eveyr time i reboot my computer. im runnin windows 2000 with service patch 1. thatnks in advance.

Try downloading the newest Creative Driver Pack from their website and re-install your sound drivers.

Try upgrading from SP1 to SP3...a LOT of fixes since SP1...

well its thanks to sp3 that im in this mess lol. i installed sp3 and then i couldnt log in, my pc just kept rebooting, so i restored system files and took it from there.

could it be caused by any conflict with an onboard sound device?

all the onboard devices are disabled in the bios and win2k doesnt detect them.
