Can´t start KDE

Installed Mandrake 9.0 and now I can only log as root with this desktop:

http://www.kakao.pop.com.br/desktop.htm

It doesn't matter if I choose to boot as root or another user, automatic or manual login, graphic or text, it always log automatically as root in this graphic environment called Mandrake TWM.

How could I make it respond to my settings? What are the config files involved?

if things are this far out of wack id try a reinstall. just put the defaults in. that will include kde and wont give a chance for some strange problems.

Just re-install.
