network transfer speed???

recently just got gkrellm install on my linux box, and i notice it show me that my file transfer speed from my laptop to my main system with raid 0 setup only has 1.8-2.0mb/s. is that slow?? what is the normal speed you guy hv when you do such thing. i'm using router(SMC)...i think it should be 100base hub or switch.

it all depends on the cpu power and how fast the hard drives are.

between my boxes with big files i do about 20-30megs a second. but with like small stuff about 10.

well, this time i install the analogX netstat on my laptop and see the transfer speed, at first it still show me the speed was 2mb...then i go to the configure and see .....there is an option that show the speed in bit or byte! if i choose the bit, then it show me the max speed was 21mb....which same as you all....are the theorectical 100mb/s was count in bit or byte??
