Angry Problems after upgrading iBook OS

This may be a stupid question, but I don't use macs or laptops at all and it is translated through my girlfriend.

After upgrading from Mac OS9 to OSX Jaguar on a blue iBook the spellcheck function in AppleWorks 6 does not work. The program quits and throws up this error message:

The application AppleWorks has unexpectedly quit. The system and other applications have not been affected.

Thanks anyone that responds I know you guys are probably busy.

Maybe you should try and get the OSX version of AppleWorks from Apple's website.

Exactly how old is this iBook? Some older macs didn't like OSX at all, especially older iMacs. I would agree with the ab ove, though. Try a version compatible with OSX or try Office if you don't mind the exorbitant price.
