ActiveX componenet can't create object

Hi,
After launching a small program, I got an error message saying that mscomctl.ocx missing ..etc so I downloaded the file and registered it then got this ActiveX component can't create object message afterward. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem ? Iam running windows 98SE . Ihave tried this START and RUN regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO350.DLL"
but no luck
