Linksys router wont let me read newsgroups or emai

as soon as i plug in the DSL router (model#BEFSR11) i cant read any headers in newsgroups or recieve email for that matter.

what setting on the router do i need to change in order to recieve email and newsgroups?

most routers have built in firewalls. It sounds like you have some overly aggressive settings holding you back. Go into the settings for your router and adjust your firewall.

Or if that doesn't help try putting that machine into the DMZ and see.
