i have some files that i have to backup... but their filenames are huge (in some cases 60 characters). Is there any method for backing up these files without their filenames being chopped in half??? thx

what if you are stuck at windows 98 command prompt no windows, its unavoidable that you have to format your drive and the only way you can save your data is by dos command prompt xcopy/copy command

now when you are back again in windows how do you revive the long file names ? (which are by now in short file name coz you copied them via dos) i have this problem and till now there is no solution for that
